animals
eat8flowers raises a family of farm animals. Dual purpose at our farm means our friends have names, and we appreciate but do not require them to offer a product to help sustain their grazing in open fields.
Our small goat herd is a little spoiled.
Noses poke into pockets to look for treats,
and everyone wants a pet.
Clementine was one of my first babies at the beginning of this dream unfolding,
and although she no longer gives milk,
she still enjoys spending time with visitors
and laying in the sun.
A few baby goats are born each year.
We love to get to know new personalities
and watch goat kids
and human kids play and jump together.

I have been milking every day for over 15 years. We can sell raw milk from the farm. I make chevre, and goat meat is available.
I also make goat milk soap without artificial dyes or fragrances, but infused with my garden grown calendula. It is excellent for sensitive skin.
Our chickens are an array of spotted, patterned, or solid-colored bodies with feathery feet or fluffy heads. Looks like Jim Henson may have got some inspiration here. Guinea birds have horns, muskovy ‘duck’ have warts. We appreciate their unique paces as they stroll, run or fly through the yard. We sell a rainbow of color and sizes of eggs in their season.

The most recent animal added to my barn collection was a little spotted donkey girl. I put her in the back of my Subaru. Along the long drive home, I got a message about a little grey boy who also needed a new home. And thus, the love story of Cookie and Ferdinando began. They roll in dirt patches together and play chase with Biscuit the dog.

Come to one of our events
or schedule a group event with your family or school
to meet the animals and share a snack.
